All you need to know to maintain the effects of your massage

Balance's expert therapists are trained to provide you with the best therapeutic massage possible. Every person's needs are different and our therapists will talk with you before your massage and develop a plan specific for you. Whether you are looking to simply relax or get some specific areas worked out, let your therapist know any needs you may have.

Your time on the table is always in your hands.

Here is some key information to help you.

Deep Tissue:

Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, soreness is pretty common after the treatment. Be sure to drink plenty of water to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will be released from the deep tissue during the massage session.

Drinking water after a massage helps the body flush out any accumulated materials in the muscles which were released during the massage. Especially in the case of deep tissue massage, massage stimulates circulation in the body while expressing water, salt, and other minerals from the muscles. Your body’s circulation is designed to carry away waste materials generated by cells. By providing your body with plenty of water, you can help sweep away these waste materials; otherwise, they might build up, causing muscle aches and soreness after your massage.

After your massage your therapist will, most likely, offer you a stretch that you can do at home.  This will help you further the benefits of your massage by focusing on the key muscles worked on and help you to continue to lengthen them.

Please feel free to ask your therapists any questions before or after your massage.
